Price range of painting car door handle?

A good friend accidentally broke the car door handle, and I’m planning to order an aftermarket replacement online. However, the car replacement parts online I’ve seen are all manufactured as plain black. For you car guys that want to know specificity, it’s a Toyota Sienna XLE 2001 exterior sliding right-sided door handle. Or, if there are suggestions about other places with that part and color, that’d be great too. Thanks in advance.

DO yourself a favor, leave it black, that first door handle broke right? Well you will break another one sooner or later, dont sweat the small stuff, there are millions of solid paint cars with black or chrome door handles.

How much should be charged (labor only) for installing an entry door?

32″, pre-hung, steel door. I have to remove the old one and install the new one, which the customer has already purchased. Assume that it will fit without triming the adjacent siding, and that there is no inside trim. Caulking and puttying will be included.

Aklymroofing answers:

That’ll depend on where you live. We charge $250 for a simple demo and install of an exterior door, with caulking, shimming, and minor trim adjustment included. Keep in mind that many areas may require a permit to replace exterior doors.

Can i use an interior door as an exterior door?

the back door of my house is rotted at the bottom and the screen door leaks, so whenever it rains, it soaks the floor. i got three interior doors for free from a foreclosed house, and they arent just simple chipboard and MDF, they are hollow but the outside of them is made of a lot stronger stuff. plus they are heavy as hell. If i put enough polyurethane on the door, and put weather strips on the opening, would it suffice to stop the rain until i can get a normal outside door?

Aklymroofing answers:

For a temporary fix, yes you can. But get a real exterior door before Oct or Nov.

How can I cut out a hole for a doggy door if a stud is in the way?

Where I want my doggy door to go has a stud directly in the center of it. What are my options if I cannot put it anywhere else?

Aklymroofing answers:

Hey mike. First you need to determine whether it’s a load bearing wall. You’ll have to take a look at the joists in your roof. If the wall you want to cut into spans the length of your joists, then it’s not load bearing. Now if it’s and outside perimeter wall, you can bet it’s load bearing. You might have already determined whether it’s load bearing or not.
Anyway if it’s load bearing, you still can remove the stud but you’ll have to construct some temporary supports and frame the opening of the new ‘doggy door’ in a different manner (like you do a exterior door or window.
If it’s load bearing and you want to still do this i suggest you research on how to frame a window or door in a load bearing wall. It’s not that hard, just has to be done a certain way. Hope that helps any

David asks…

Why do the sliding closet doors touch each other? The back door go on the track. The front rubs and pops off.

Closet wood sliding doors replacement. The back door goes on the track nicely. When angeling the front door they touch and we can get only one side of the front on, because the screws touch the back door. What can be done to hang both doors securely?

Aklymroofing answers:

Remove both doors, and make sure that the brackets are centered in the narrow dimension of each door. Also check to see that you are using interior-rated doors, which are 1-3/8″ thick, as opposed to exterior rated doors which are 1-3/4″ thick. There should be a floor mounted bracket to keep the bottoms of the doors in place, be sure that’s installed. Otherwise, you may need new hardware for the doors, which is readily available. Hope this helps.
